ChartsOttilia Hartenstein Kammerdiener Family
Adam Denzler was born circa 1823 at Germany.1 He married Theresa Kammerdiener, daughter of Godfrey Kammerdiener and Ottilia Hartenstein, circa 1847.1 Adam Denzler was a butcher between 1850 and 1870. He witnessed the marriage of Moritz Nadebor and Charlotte Kammerdiener on 28 March 1869 at New York Co., NY.2,3,4 Adam Denzler died between 1875 and 1880 at New York, New York Co., NY.1 He was buried on 30 September 1886 at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY.5
Although I have no specific proof that Theresa was a daughter of Godfrey and Ottilia, there is overwhelming evidence to suggest it. Various members of the family served as baptism and marriage sponsors for each other. The Denzler family lived together with Matilda Kammerdiener at the time of the 1860 census. Theresa's birth date fits reasonably well with the birth dates of her siblings. All records indicate that she was born in New York City, so it must have occurred shortly after her parents arrived in this country from Germany.
