Anecdote* | | Although I have no specific proof that Theresa was a daughter of Godfrey and Ottilia, there is overwhelming evidence to suggest it. Various members of the family served as baptism and marriage sponsors for each other. The Denzler family lived together with Matilda Kammerdiener at the time of the 1860 census. Theresa's birth date fits reasonably well with the birth dates of her siblings. All records indicate that she was born in New York City, so it must have occurred shortly after her parents arrived in this country from Germany. |
