In the Name of the Trinity Amen The twelfth Day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety-four. I Valentine Greiner of Warwick Township County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania being very sick but of good and perfect memory and understanding Thanks be to God and considering the mortality of my Body Do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following to wit Imprimis I recommend my Soul to God and my Body to the Earth to be interred in a Christian like manner and as to such worldly Estate wherewith God hath blessed me I do give and dispose of the same as follows to wit Item I do give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Barbara the Feather Bed with the Bedstead and curtains which we have at present in use And I do further give and bequeath unto my said wife all my Household Furniture during her natural Life and after her decease the same shall be divided to and amongst my children in equal shares And I do also give and bequeath unto my said Wife Ten bushels of wheat and two Bushels of Rye yearly which shall be carried to the mill and brought back again by the Possessor of my land And further she shall have one Hog weighing one hundred Pounds yearly during her natural life which shall be fed and fatted by the Possessor of my Land and she shall also have as many Apples as she may use and further she shall and may live and reside in the House wherein we now live during the Term of her natural life and she shall also be provided with a sufficiency of Fire wood which shall be brought home to her and be cut small and fit for her use by the Possessor of the Land And I do further give and bequeath unto her the Cow which we now have which shall go in Pasture with those of the Possessor of the Land and be well fed by the said Possessor And I do also give and bequeath unto my said wife the interest of Three hundred and sixty Pounds to be paid to her [by] my Executor yearly and every year during her Natural life and after her decease the said sum of money is to remain in the Hands of my Executor and be lent out & placed at Interest for the use of the Children of my deceased Daughter Barbara and each of them to receive their shares of the said sum as they attain their age But whatever the husband of my said deceased Daughter hath already received shall be and remain his property Item I do give and bequeath unto my son Philip the sum of Ten Pounds for and in lieu of his first Birth Right and as to the Rest he shall go in equal share with my four children Item I do give and devise unto my son Martin a certain Plantation situate in Rapho Township with all Rights and appurtenances To hold him and his heirs and assigns forever at and for the sum of Five hundred Pounds which sum is to be deducted from his share portion of Inheritance Item I do give and devise unto my Son Valentine a certain Plantation situate in Warwick Township with all the Rights and Appurtenances To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns at and for the sum of six hundred and fifty Pounds he paying whatever sum the same shall exceed or be over his share or Portion of Inheritance And lastly I do hereby make and appoint my said two Sons Martin and Valentine to be my Executors to settle my Estate who shall execute and give Deeds each to the other and receive Releases from the others Hereby revoking and making void all and every other Wills Executors and Legacies by heretofore made and willed and declaring this and no other to be Last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twelfth Day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety four 1794

Lancaster County ss On the 24th day of October 1794 Before me the subscriber Personally appeared Frederick Shitz and Frederick Kehler the two subscribing Witnesses to the written will who upon their solemn affirmations according to Law Did severally declare and say that they were present and saw and heard Valentine Greiner the Testator therein named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within instrument in writing and for his last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of Sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their Knowledge observation and belief

Be it Remembered that on the 24th day of October 1794 The last will and Testament of Valentine Greiner late of Warwick Township in the County of Lancaster deceased was proved in due form of Law and Letters Testamentary thereon were granted to Martin Greiner and Valentine Greiner the Executors therein named they having first been duly qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of the said deceased Especially to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registers Office at Lancaster within one month and to render a true and just account of their Executorship on said Estate in one year from this date or when thereto lawfully required Given under the seal of same office.
