Anecdote* | | I am grateful to Lynn Lamphier for recognizing the connection between Anna Maria Faul and the Kiefer family. Further research in Frederick, Maryland revealed that Anna Maria's older sister Elizabeth married Louis Stein there. I had not been able to discover when and where these two sisters had married. Both the Faul and Kiefer families apparently immigrated from Herschberg, Germany. I do not yet know when Michael Kiefer immigrated or which of several Kiefer families in Herschberg he belongs to. |
